About

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on the "parts" and "Self" of a client. In IFS, the mind is regarded to be organically made up of various sub-personalities or families within each individual’s mental system. These damaged parts and painful feelings like anger and shame take on diverse roles, such as inner critic or inner child, and are made up of wounded parts and painful feelings like anger and guilt. The purpose of IFS is to assist clients in accessing Self in order to repair wounded aspects of their bodies and bring their minds back into equilibrium.
